Belfast Christmas Markets

Belfast`s City Hall Continental Christmas Market – a unique and exciting festive feast experience alongside carefully handcrafted goods and artisan products in the grounds of City Hall from 17 November – 22 December. For many years, Belfast’s City Hall has been transformed into a traditional German-style Christmas market, packed to the brim with 90 masterfully handcrafted wooden chalets.

Bring your kids to visit Santa in his magical grotto and support local charity Pretty ‘n’ Pink and giant snow slide (2£ per slide). You can also buy a variety of Christmas decorations and live Christmas trees directly on the market. Visit Belfast during these Christmas holidays and you will never forget this exciting experience!

Derry Christmas Markets

The Winterland Market in Derry welcomes the best of artisan traders, offering visitors a family-friendly shopping experience with a wide selection of speciality Christmas foods and handcrafted products. Drogheda Christmas Markets

After a 2-year break, Drogheda’s Christmas lights are due to be switched on Friday 23rd November from 5.30 pm – 7 pm on St. Peters Steps in West Street, Drogheda. Mayor Frank Godfrey announced a continental-style Christmas market in Drogheda to build on the positive energy palpable in Drogheda since the Fleadh. “West Street could be pedestrianised from St Peter’s church to the Tholsel, with the street filled with stalls selling everything from crafts to foods to all sorts of Christmas produce“, he said in September. Unfourtantelly there is still no special Christmas Market in the city centre, but other highlights include a traditional singing concert, mulled wine and mince pies in the RNLI Lifeboat Station, Clogherhead on Sunday are available.

Another special treat this year is the Slane Distillery Christmas Market. The market will be opened on Friday the 30th November with a special tree lighting ceremony and will run up until Sunday 23rd of December. Entry to the market is free and visitors of all ages are welcome! 

What to Buy?

This Christmas, Slane Distillery will be transformed into a spectacular Christmas village, complete with log cabins selling a variety of goods. The market cabins of the Slane Distillery Christmas Market, will sit in the courtyards of the 250-year-old Georgian stables and will be selling local produce, gifts, confectionary and more.

Visitors to the Slane Distillery Christmas Market can enjoy some tasty treats as they shop to find the perfect gift this season. 

A selection of food trucks will be serving up delicious offerings such as the Slane Winter Spiced Apple Punch. This warming winter drunk is made with Slane Irish Whiskey and with local Cockagee Cider – perfect to keep you warm as you browse the market stalls.

Galway Christmas Markets

The Galway Continental Christmas Market returns to the city on Friday 16th November.

Amusement rides (including a 32-metre-high Big Wheel, Helter Skelter and traditional Carousel) along with living music performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs, carol singing together with charity and community events will prepare you to Christmas mood. The 2018 Christmas Market will also feature artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.

The Santa Express will take you on a train tour discovering the sights of the city, while the festive cheers continue through the cobbled streets of Galway lined with bustling shops, bars and restaurants. Presented by the Galway City Business Association (GCBA) and supported by Galway City Council, it has become Ireland’s longest running Christmas Market.
